CoEx 3 to 7-Layer

The CoEx (Co-Extrusion) application allows non-related materials with different characteristics to be combined in 1 parison. This combination is called for when a high-gloss outside layer or barrier layer is required. The materials are bonded together with an adhesive layer between them.

Depending on the application for co-extrusion blowmolding, configurations can range from 3-layers up to 7-layers.

Typical examples are:

• Food packaging with barrier properties for extended shelf-life
• Pharmaceutical containers with barrier properties to protect the filled product
• Chemical packaging with barrier properties for use in the agro-industry
• Cosmetic packaging for high-gloss and scratch free outer surface
• Container for “bag-in-a-bottle”
• Automotive tanks for permeation protection
